At The Hope Well America, we are experienced professionals who are honored to walk alongside you through the mountains and valleys of life. While we have a wide array of emotional wellness concerns that we are able to address through treatment, our key specialties are: Marriage and Family, Life Transitions, Adolescent Stress Management and Adjustment, and Advanced-Age Emotional Balance. Symptoms of depression and anxiety are hallmarks of these transition periods, and we have several evidence-based treatment approaches that we employ in order to provide the most competent and compassionate care possible.
Tedra Cook earned her Master of Social Work degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, with concentrated studies in substance abuse and child welfare. She also has a Bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in Psychology.
Over the course of her career, she has provided psychotherapy and case management to a wide range of clients from ages three to 50+. Tedra also has a dedicated background in working with children who have experienced abuse and neglect. As a child welfare social worker, Tedra has provided strengths based services to promote child safety and family preservation in surrounding areas including Durham, Wake and Orange County.
Tedra has a passion and proven talent for working with children, teenagers, individuals, and families of various backgrounds. Tedra believes that each individual or family are the experts on their own lives, and should be empowered to provide input on what is the best approach for their treatment. To this end, Tedra utilizes various evidenced based modalities to ensure the best personalized treatment approach for each client including, psychodynamic treatment, CBT skills, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-focused, and psychoeducation.
At the core of Tedra’s interactions with her clients, is the belief that there is always hope for change. Tedra believes it is the role of the clinician to highlight that hope and the responsibility of the client to hold on to that hope as change happens. Her own faith and spiritual beliefs are what drive her desire to encourage people to always strive to live their best lives.
Tyrek Corry earned his Master of Social Work degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He also has a Master of Divinity from Duke University and Bachelor’s degree from Clemson University in Psychology.
Over the course of his career, Tyrek has gained clinical experience form a variety of settings including small and large non-profits along with educational and church settings. He has experience working with individuals, groups, adults, adolescent, and children in the following areas: skill-building, social development, trauma, anxiety, and other mental health needs.
Tyrek is passionate about providing spaces where people can move from a place of survival into thriving while caring for the whole person. He understands that healing is a journey, and the client must have an active voice in the process which includes making room for all that it means for them to be human in the therapy space. His own faith and spiritual beliefs inform his desire to walk alongside people through the various difficulties and circumstances they face in their lives. To this end Tyrek uses a Person-Centered method, Motivational interviewing techniques, Strengths-Based approach along with Trauma-informed practices to guide his interaction with clients.
Kara Holden earned her Doctorate in Psychology from Argosy University. She also has a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology from Virginia State University. As a Licensed Psychologist, Dr. Holden has provided psychotherapy in both federal and state agencies over the last decade. Through her commitment to help others, Dr. Holden has worked with inmates and contributed to the rehabilitation of individuals with sex offenses as a Sex Offender Treatment Psychologist. She has also instructed bachelor’s level courses in psychology.
Her passion is to help others in their time of crisis and also support clients to meet their full potential by overcoming emotional barriers hindering them from achieving their goals. People struggle with anxiety, depression, and interpersonal difficulties that contribute to a great deal of daily distress. Dr. Holden works collaboratively with patients by incorporating CBT skills to empower clients to work toward tackling and diminishing these life stressors.
The Hope Well’s Lead Psychotherapist, Carynne Williams, earned her Master of Social Work degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She also has a Master of Public Administration degree from North Carolina Central University and a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Duke University.
Over the course of her career, she has provided psychotherapy in a wide range of clinical settings, including practice in federal and state agencies. Most recently, she has worked for the Department of Justice as a Clinical Social Worker, providing treatment to dozens of patients over the course of the past several years.
Carynne has a passion for helping others and has been able to do so with clients ranging from ages four to 80 years old. She has a distinct passion and proven talent in working with marriages and families, and does not believe in a one size fits all approach to treatment. Instead, she prefers a pragmatic approach that includes psychodynamic treatment, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, CBT, DBT skills, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-focused, and psychoeducation.
Belief in addressing the needs of the whole person- emotionally, physically, spiritually, and socially is at the core of Carynne’s interactions with her clients. Her own faith and spiritual beliefs fuel her passion for people-their restoration and healing.
WE NOW ACCEPT MEDICARE! All self-pay patients will be responsible for the full fee due at the time of service. Payment is accepted through our client portal. Mental health service fees are reimbursable by most Health Savings Account and Flex-Spending Plans. Check with your insurer for more information.
Clients may make an appointment by calling our office, by emailing us, or through our Client Portal. Please make any appointment changes with at least 24 hours notice. Any cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment will be subject to a $50 cancellation fee.
